Thursday, October 8, 2026 - Detectives in Moyale, Marsabit County, have arrested two suspects and recovered a Toyota Prado believed to have been fraudulently acquired following an intelligence-led operation within Moyale town.

The detectives intercepted a white Toyota Prado, registration number KAR 555M, and arrested the driver, Mohamed Amin, 26, and his passenger, Ahmed Abdulahi Hajji, 22.

Preliminary checks established that the vehicle’s chassis number did not correspond with the registration details held by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), raising suspicion that the vehicle had been tampered with or fraudulently registered.

A thorough search of the vehicle also led to the recovery of an empty pistol magazine and a pistol holster, both concealed in the glove compartment, as well as rolls of bhang.

The two suspects remain in police custody as detectives process them pending arraignment in court.

Police are continuing investigations to establish the circumstances under which the vehicle was acquired and the intended use of the recovered items.
