Monday, August 24, 2026 - A dramatic incident unfolded along the busy Luthuli Avenue in Nairobi after a lady was conned by individuals operating around electronic shops in the area.
The victim had gone to the infamous street to buy a phone
when she was lured by conmen who took advantage of her.
She was later seen wailing uncontrollably as members of the
public gathered around her and tried to calm her down.
Some women could be heard pleading with her to dress
appropriately as she caused a scene while demanding that her money be returned.
“Vaa Nguo,” some of the women were heard telling her as the
dramatic incident attracted the attention of passersby.
Luthuli Avenue, a major commercial hub in Nairobi’s CBD, has
over the years gained a reputation for cases involving scams targeting
unsuspecting buyers looking to purchase electronic gadgets.
Shoppers should exercise caution when making purchases along
the busy street.
