Family members reveal KCB Senior Manager ROSEMARY KIMWATU was struggling with debts, marriage and toxic work environment before death - Husband had kicked her out of matrimonial home

Monday, August 24, 2026 - Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Head of Data Protection Rosemary Kimwatu had been experiencing marital and financial difficulties before her death.

Rosemary, 40, was found dead at her residence in the Ole Nairo area of Ngong on August 21, 2026, after taking her own life.

Before her death, she had reportedly confided in some close family members that she was struggling with debts, marriage problems, and a toxic work environment.

Her husband is reported to have kicked her out of their matrimonial home, forcing her to rent a house in Ngong, where her lifeless body was later discovered.

At her workplace, she had reportedly complained that Group Chief Risk Officer Faith Basiye was bullying her and had even written several emails to the Human Resources Manager and the CEO, seeking help.

However, her pleas fell on deaf ears.

Police said she was found hanging from a bedroom window at her home in Kaiyet Close.

A caretaker said relatives broke down the bedroom door after she failed to respond to calls and knocks.

Police processed the scene and said no note was recovered.

Her body was later moved to Lee Funeral Home for a postmortem examination.

Rosemary had built a distinguished career in law, technology, public policy and data protection.
