CS MURKOMEN reacts to GACHAGUA’s Ksh 6.8 million Rolex Daytona watch

Sunday, August 9, 2026 - Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has hit back at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after he accused him of wearing an expensive watch.

Taking to his social media pages, Murkomen claimed that while Gachagua criticised him for wearing an expensive watch, the former Deputy President was himself wearing a Rolex Daytona watch worth Ksh 6.8 million.

“Today in Kajiado, Mr. Rigathi Gachagua-the tribal jingoist-accused me of wearing an expensive watch, yet on the hand he held the microphone to spit tribal vitriol, he wore a Rolex Daytona watch worth Kenya Shillings 6.8 million,” Murkomen said.

Murkomen further claimed that a quick scan of Gachagua’s social media pages showed that he has a rich collection of Rolex watches worth approximately Ksh 50 million.

“I bet in his tribal classism, watches are not for ‘watu kama Murkomen’. Ukabila ishindwe!” he added.
