Tuesday, March 11, 2025 - Outspoken political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has predicted that President William Ruto will secure re-election in 2027 even without backing from the Kikuyu community.
Ngunyi also issued a stark warning to former Deputy
President Rigathi Gachagua, who has openly declared a political battle against
Ruto, cautioning him that he stands no chance of victory.
Gachagua, a vocal critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration,
insists that he has the numbers and strategy to unseat Ruto.
Speaking in Kitengela on Sunday, March 9th, the
former DP confidently asserted that Ruto has only two years left in power.
“I know people think two years is a long time, but don’t
worry, time moves fast.”
“The moment is coming,” Gachagua declared.
He urged Gen Z and Millennial voters to register in large
numbers, positioning them as the decisive force to bring an end to Ruto’s
presidency.
According to Gachagua, Mt Kenya - working in alliance with
leaders like Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa - has the
political muscle to topple Ruto.
However, Ngunyi has dismissed these claims, arguing that
Ruto does not need Mt Kenya’s full support to secure victory.
In a tweet on March 11th, he reminded Gachagua of
the late President Daniel Moi’s reign, during which he ruled for 24 years
despite resistance from Mt Kenya.
“Dear Gachagua: You will NOT win the war against Ruto. When
Kikuyus showed ARROGANCE towards Mzee Moi, he IGNORED them.
“Then he turned to the MINORITY tribes like Somalis of
Eastleigh, and ruled for 24 years! Do you UNDERSTAND what I am saying?” Ngunyi
stated.
