Monday, February 3, 2025 - Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Justin Muturi could be fired at any moment, according to Belgut MP Nelson Koech.
Speaking on Citizen TV's Daybreak,
Koech argued that Muturi has provoked his dismissal through his open criticism
of the Government, particularly on the issue of abductions and extrajudicial
killings.
Muturi has been vocal about the alarming cases of enforced
disappearances, directly challenging President William Ruto to act.
His strong stance, Koech suggests, is an open dare to the
Head of State.
“I know what is happening politically.”
“He is daring the president to fire him.”
“He has called for it, and you will see it.”
“In a week or two, CS Muturi will be home,” Koech stated.
Muturi, a former Attorney General, has warned that the
ongoing abductions and killings are tarnishing Kenya’s reputation and asked for
immediate Government action.
Speaking at City Mortuary on Friday, where the bodies of two
missing youths were found, Muturi decried the brutality meted on these young
people who are victims of the abductions.
“This is murder most foul. The country must prioritize
discussing this crisis of abductions and extrajudicial killings,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua
have condemned Defense CS Aden Duale and other UDA leaders for demanding
Muturi’s resignation, deepening the rift within Ruto’s administration.
