Sunday, August 09, 2026 - Winnie Odinga has lit up social media with her hilarious yet heartfelt congratulations to Charlene Ruto on her traditional wedding to Tanzanian entrepreneur Isaya Yunge.
The East African Legislative Assembly MP shared a carousel
of photos from the Koito ak Chaik ceremony held in Kilgoris, Narok County, on
August 8, 2026, with a cheeky caption.
“Baba yangu alinituma Tanzania, siku jua Charlene ananifuata nyuma kuninyima bwana!”
Winnie, who was among the distinguished guests at the celebration, shared a photo set that captured Charlene glowing in her bridal attire alongside a moment of herself warmly shaking hands with President William Ruto.
Besides the banter, Winnie emphasized her support for
Charlene, calling her “my sister” and praising her radiant look as a bride.
“All Maneno aside, today I showed up for my
sister Charlene. A Blushing bride! Blessings to Char and Isayah.”
Winnie also joked about
her handshake with President Ruto, calling it a “hand squeezing competition.”
“I didn’t know there was a hand squeezing competition ahead!”
she joked.
The ceremony itself was a grand affair, attended by government officials, politicians, friends, and family.
