Wednesday, August 12, 2026 - Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi was left embarrassed after being pushed aside by President William Ruto’s security team in Naivasha, where leaders allied to the broad-based Government had met for a parliamentary group meeting.

In the video, several leaders from ODM and UDA are seen surrounding the President after the meeting, desperately reaching out their hands to greet him and capture his attention.

Wamumbi, who has been portraying himself as one of the President’s loyalists from the Mount Kenya region, was seen being pushed aside by the President’s elite security team as he attempted to get closer to Ruto.

The video has since sparked online buzz, with many wondering whether Wamumbi may have fallen out with Ruto following the recent Ol Kalou by-election, in which he was among the chief campaigners for the UDA candidate.
