There is growing discontent among elite bodyguards attached to President
William Ruto’s security team over delayed salary payments.
According to sources, the officers are reportedly overworked
as they accompany the Head of State across the country on official duties.
Despite the pressure and demands that come with their jobs,
the officers do not receive their salaries on time, leading to frustration and
low morale within the unit.
The situation is also said to be affecting other sections of
the National Police Service, where delayed payments have reportedly become a
major concern among officers.
Some officers are allegedly sinking into alcoholism and
battling emotional stress due to financial hardships caused by salary delays.
The revelations came into light after a source familiar with the matter reached out to a local activist, who later highlighted the issue on X.
