Wednesday, May 13, 2026 - Former Roots Party leader and lawyer, George Wajackoyah, is celebrating a proud family milestone after his son, Obunga, graduated from a United States Army training programme in North Carolina.
Wajackoyah shared the news on social media, posting photos
from the colourful ceremony at Campbell University, a private institution
renowned for its Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programme.
The event was attended by close family members and military
officers, with Wajackoyah himself travelling to the US to witness the
achievement.
“Today we attended the graduation of our son, Lieutenant
Obunga, at Campbell University, North Carolina.”
“We are praying that he will soon be commissioned as a
Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army,” Wajackoyah wrote, beaming with pride.
In his message, he encouraged his son to continue pursuing
education alongside his military career.
“He has made us proud. A PhD is the way to go, Lieutenant, as you progress to the next rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army,” he added.
