2026 - Fast‑rising Kenyan boxer, Majembe, has opened up about how he
intends to use the Ksh1.7 million he pocketed after defeating Mbavu Destroyer
at the Vurugu boxing event.
Speaking during a radio interview on Friday, April 10th,
2026, Majembe confirmed that he had already received the full amount but chose
to bank it rather than keep it in cash.
He explained that holding large sums of money can easily
lead to reckless spending.
“I have already received the money from the fight, but I
chose to have it deposited instead of keeping it in cash because it is easy to
misuse cash. In total, I earned Ksh1.7 million,” he said.
The boxer also revealed that he is set to receive a car
promised to him after the fight, though it has not yet been delivered.
He admitted he currently does not have a driving licence but
plans to sort that out soon.
“I was also promised a car courtesy of Odibets, which I expect to receive soon,
although I don’t have a driving licence yet and will plan for that,” he added.
Majembe disclosed that his top priority is to build a decent
house for his mother, describing it as his ultimate measure of success.
“My main goal is to build a good house for my mother,
because that is when I will truly feel like a winner,” he said.
The boxer emphasized that he prefers to keep his family life
private, avoiding publicity around his parents.
He noted that while they guided him well, it is now his
responsibility to uplift them without exposing them unnecessarily.
Majembe concluded by stressing that he will take time to
plan carefully, ensuring his prize money is invested wisely for long‑term
stability and a better future for his family.
“I will take time to plan properly so that the money benefits my family
in the long term,” he stated.
He has since received his car
