Thursday, April 23, 2026 - The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has expressed shock and outrage following the tragic death of Advocate Tom Ouya Imbukwa, who succumbed to injuries after a brutal assault and torture at his Harambee Sacco Estate home.
In a statement issued on Thursday, April 23rd,
LSK President Charles Kanjama mourned the late lawyer with “profound grief,”
extending heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the wider legal
fraternity.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Kanjama said,
pledging the society’s full support to those affected.
Kanjama condemned the killing in the strongest terms,
insisting that the circumstances surrounding Imbukwa’s death demand urgent
investigation.
“Our colleague was assaulted, tortured, and murdered by
unknown persons. This atrocity requires immediate action,” he stated.
He appealed to members of the public with any information to
share it with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) or directly with
LSK, assuring anonymity and protection.
The LSK President further urged security agencies to act
swiftly and credibly.
“If state actors were involved, there must be no
sanctuary for them,” he emphasized, vowing that the society will pursue
accountability and consider further action once more details emerge.
Reports indicate Imbukwa was found dumped near his Harambee SACCO Estate home before being rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he later died.
