Thursday, March 12, 2026 - There was drama along Luthuli Avenue in Nairobi CBD after a middle-aged woman smashed a matatu’s windscreen following a dispute over her Ksh 900 change.
According to reports, the woman had boarded
a Buruburu-bound matatu with her younger sister as they headed to
school.
She handed the conductor a Ksh 1,000 note but
never received her Ksh 900 balance.
By the time the matatu arrived in town, the tout had
reportedly disappeared, leaving the woman frustrated and demanding her money
back.
When she confronted the driver about the missing change, he
dismissed her and told her, “Fanya kenye unataka.”
Angered by the response, the woman picked up a stone
and smashed the matatu’s windscreen, causing a commotion that attracted a crowd
of onlookers.
