Powell has taken legal action against Deshae Frost after he allegedly accused
her of s3xual assault and infecting him with herpes during a livestream.
According to a cease and desist letter obtained by TMZ,
Powell’s attorney, Rebecca R. Bordoli, sent a formal notice on Thursday,
February 26, demanding that Frost immediately stop making what the letter
describes as “defamatory, defamatory per se, harmful, and false statements.”
The letter states that during a January 26 livestream, Frost
allegedly told viewers that Powell sexually assaulted him and transmitted
herpes to him. Powell’s legal team says the allegations are “completely devoid
of factual support” and have “no merit whatsoever.”
Her attorney argues that under Florida law, the accusations
amount to defamation per se, noting that falsely alleging someone committed a
crime or has an infectious disease qualifies as libel, with damages presumed.
Powell’s representatives claim the statements have already
affected her business and professional relationships, alleging that the claims
are spreading rapidly online and damaging her reputation.
The letter demands that Frost publicly retract the
statements and issue a formal apology across every platform where the claims
were made within 10 days, warning that failure to do so could result in a
lawsuit. It also serves as formal notice of Powell’s intent to pursue civil
action for libel and defamation.
The dispute stems from a livestream interaction between the two that quickly gained traction online. Frost has not publicly responded to the cease and desist letter.
