14, 2026 - Tanzanian gospel music icon, Rose Muhando,
has secretly tied the knot with Pastor Lumbasi,
ending months of speculation surrounding her personal life.
The revelation was made by Pastor Lumbasi himself during a
recent church service, where he confirmed that the couple formalised their
union privately after completing all traditional requirements, including the
payment of dowry.
“The process began some time ago. The dowry has been paid,
and everything is now settled. Rose is already taken,” Pastor Lumbasi told
congregants, while appealing for respect for their marriage.
According to the pastor, the couple deliberately chose to
keep their relationship and marriage away from the public eye, with only close
family members and friends aware of the union until now.
He described Rose Muhando as a woman of deep faith, noting
that their shared spiritual values played a central role in bringing them
together.
Rose Muhando is one of East Africa’s most influential gospel
artists, widely celebrated for her powerful voice and enduring impact on the
Christian music scene.
In past interviews, she had openly stated that she was
unmarried, choosing instead to focus on her faith, ministry, and raising her
children.
She often cited the demands of her music career and frequent
travel as challenges to settling down.
The singer had also previously said she was waiting for a
“perfect man” guided by biblical principles and has consistently spoken with
pride about raising her children as a single mother.
Pastor Lumbasi, an ordained gospel minister and recording
artist known for his Swahili and Luhya gospel songs, has been married before,
though details of his previous marriage remain limited.
Reports indicate that he paid Muhando’s dowry in 2023.
