Wednesday, January 14, 2026 - A casual question on X (formerly Twitter) has ignited a heated debate after a tweep asked, “Mbona sijawahi ona intermarriage ya Luo and Kalenjins?”
The post quickly drew emotional responses, including one Luo
lady who shared a painful story about her sister’s relationship with a Kalenjin
man.
She disclosed that the man promised her sister marriage but
later quietly relocated abroad, got engaged and blocked her sister without
explanation.
The revelation fueled mixed reactions, with some netizens
warning women to “fear Kalenjin men.”
Others claimed that while Kalenjin men may date outside
their tribe, they often marry Kalenjin women.
Several users added that even Kalenjin women rarely marry beyond their community.
