Wednesday, January
14, 2026 - Rarieda Member of Parliament, Otiende Amollo, has dismissed as
false a viral post claiming he endorsed Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka,
for the 2027 presidential race.
In a statement shared on his X account on Wednesday, January
14th, Amollo warned the public against misinformation, saying the
circulating graphic falsely attributed comments to him.
“The fakers are tireless,” he wrote, distancing himself from
claims that he had pledged Luo community support for Kalonzo.
The disputed post, widely shared across social media
platforms, suggested that the Luo community will rally behind Kalonzo in the
next election.
The controversy comes weeks after Amollo refuted claims that
Raila Odinga had privately assured anyone that ODM will remain aligned with
President William Ruto beyond 2027.
Amollo criticized individuals who claimed to have insider
knowledge of Raila’s intentions.
“After losing Raila Odinga, all sorts of things are
happening.”
“All kinds of people are speaking, even people Raila never
spoke to are now claiming, ‘Raila told me this in private. Raila told me
that,’” he said.
He urged the public to rely only on Raila’s public
statements.
“The only thing you can believe is what Raila said in
public, not what someone claims he whispered to them.”
Amollo reiterated that Raila had only committed ODM to
cooperate with the Kenya Kwanza Government until 2027.
“Beyond 2027, it is those of us who are still alive to decide. We may, or we may not be [with Ruto],” he concluded.
