MOSES KURIA accuses GACHAGUA of recruiting a former cop with a murder case to lead a criminal gang that assaulted Lamu Woman Rep at MP GAKUYA’s mother’s burial

Tuesday, January 6, 2026 - Former Cabinet Secretary, Moses Kuria, has sparked controversy after accusing former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of associating with what he described as a criminal gang involved in the recent assault of Lamu Woman Representative, Muthoni Marubu.

Taking to his X account, Kuria claimed that one of the individuals said to have taken part in the incident is a former police officer allegedly facing a pending murder case and reportedly linked to a missing firearm.

He further alleged that the suspect is closely associated with Gachagua, whom he accused of enabling and protecting the group.

The assault occurred over the weekend as Muthoni addressed mourners during the burial of MP, James Gakuya’s mother, where she expressed support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid.

Tensions escalated, forcing her to flee the venue for her safety.
