Wednesday, January 14, 2026 - A sombre mood engulfed
mourners as a Catholic catechist, who perished in a tragic road accident
alongside his wife and children, was laid to rest in an emotional burial
ceremony.
The deceased family members were travelling home to Gilgil
aboard a matatu when the fatal accident occurred.
The vehicle was reportedly hit by a speeding bus along the
Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
Tragically, the catechist, his wife, and two of their
children died on the spot.
Only their 10-year-old daughter and the family’s house help
survived the horrific crash.
Heartbreaking scenes were witnessed during the burial as the
young girl, the sole surviving child, struggled to contain her emotions while
attending the final send-off of her parents and siblings.
