Wednesday, January 14, 2026 - Residents of Karatina in Nyeri County were left stunned after discovering that all trucks and heavy machinery at Karatina Market departed immediately after the President left the area following the official launch.
According to eyewitnesses, equipment and machinery that had
been on site, reportedly meant to complete the remaining works at the market, were
seen leaving shortly after the presidential motorcade exited Karatina.
The abrupt departure of the machinery sparked confusion and
criticism among locals, with some questioning whether the equipment had been
deployed solely for photo opportunities during the high-profile
event.
