22, 2025 - Two detectives
attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Kasarani Police
Station were on Monday arrested for allegedly taking part in an armed robbery
along Mirema Drive in Nairobi.
According to police reports, the two officers, identified as
Corporal Mwalimu Said
Mwalole and Police
Constable/ Driver Kipkurui Bii, are accused of confronting a
man outside his home while armed with AK-47
rifles.
The suspects allegedly forced the victim into his house and
ordered him to open a safe containing travel
documents and USD 16,000
(approximately Ksh
2.06 million).
The officers are said to have counted the stolen cash before
abandoning the victim near Jessekay
Hospital.
The man later took a boda boda back to his home and
filed a report at Kasarani
Police Station.
Detectives at Kasarani immediately launched investigations,
leading to the arrest of the two officers, who were confirmed to be serving
under the DCI.
The matter remains under investigation as authorities move
to recover the stolen money and determine if more suspects were involved.
