Thursday, September 11, 2025 - The spouse of the late Linner Sang, the Kenyan woman fatally stabbed in Reading on Sunday, September 7th, has been identified as Edwin Kiplangat Yegon.
According to Thames Valley Police, Edwin, 29, was arrested
shortly after the incident while attempting to jump into a river and has since
been formally charged with
murder.
Both Linner and Edwin were teachers in Kenya before
relocating to the United Kingdom.
Linner previously taught in Kesses, while Edwin taught in Kipsitet, Kericho.
Linner moved to the UK in late 2023 to further her studies
before securing employment as a Social
Care Worker.
Edwin later joined her on a dependent visa and also found
work in the care sector.
The tragic killing has shocked the Kenyan diaspora community in the UK, with friends and colleagues describing Linner as a hardworking and ambitious young woman whose life was cut short in the most brutal way.
