Wednesday, September 10, 2025 - Former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has made it clear he has no intention of returning to Government.
Speaking on Tuesday, September 9th, Tuju said he
is content with his private life and business ventures.
“I am very happy where I am. I enjoy a private life and can
speak freely without worrying about government or opposition positions,” he
said.
Tuju, who manages several private enterprises employing over
100 people, dismissed the idea of seeking a Government salary.
“It’s difficult to pay someone like me. I create jobs and
only do what I want to do,” he added.
He also voiced concern over Kenya’s political climate,
arguing that citizens are failing to confront core issues such as unemployment,
insecurity, and corruption.
“We are refusing to look at what the real problems are,”
Tuju said.
On August 19th, Tuju resigned from the Jubilee
Party in a letter to former President Uhuru Kenyatta, stating that he no longer
saw value in his role.
However, he expressed openness to working with Kenyatta in
the future.
Tuju served as Jubilee SG from 2016 to 2022, playing a
pivotal role in shaping the party’s strategy before being succeeded by Jeremiah
Kioni.
His latest remarks signal a firm pivot toward private
enterprise and independent public commentary.
