Thursday, March 6, 2025 - A woman in Mwiki is appealing for help to recover her stolen vehicle after a man posing as a client hired it under false pretences.
The suspect, identified as Simion Ben, allegedly claimed he
needed the Toyota Axio (KCM 326E) to pick up a sick relative from Kenyatta
National Hospital but disappeared with it.
The car’s tracker was last active in Njiru New Town before
being switched off.
The matter was reported at Mwiki Police Station on Sunday,
2nd March 2025, under OB number 100/02/03/2025.
The woman is urging the public to be on the lookout for the
vehicle, which has registration numbers engraved on its side and window
mirrors.
"Good morning Nyakundi. Can you help me highlight the
plight of a Mwiki grandma whose vehicle was stolen on Saturday by a man
pretending to hire the vehicle so that he could pick up a sick relative at KNH?
On Saturday afternoon, 1st March 2025, a middle-aged man by
the name Simion Ben pretended to hire a Toyota Axio, KCM 326E, from a granny in
Mwiki to pick up a sick relative from KNH. That was the last time the car was
seen. The man, who it has now emerged is a serial car thief, turned off the
tracker at Njiru New Town and also turned off his mobile phone.
The incident was reported at Mwiki Police Station on Sunday, 2nd March 2025, OB number 100/02/03/2025. The vehicle has registration numbers inscribed on the side mirrors and window mirrors. Please be on the lookout for this serial thief and help this grandma recover her vehicle."
