Monday, February 3, 2025 - Kenya Airways (KQ) has condemned a disturbance caused by a Nigerian passenger at its transfer desk at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
The incident, captured in a viral social media video, showed
a heated verbal exchange between the passenger and a KQ agent.
The aggrieved traveler threatened to escalate the matter to
senior Nigerian Government officials, but the airline agent retorted that she
could even call the Nigerian President.
According to KQ, the passenger was traveling from Lagos to
Manchester via Nairobi and Paris but lacked a Schengen visa, a requirement for
entry into the European Union.
The airline offered an alternative route through London,
which she declined.
According to KQ, preliminary investigations revealed the video lacked full context and confirmed that the matter had been handed over to security agencies for further review.

Our attention has been drawn to several cases of inhuman treatments of Nigerian passengers in Nairobi by @KenyaAirways. A case of Ms. Omisore G. who flew from Manchester to Lagos, connecting-Man-CDG-NBO-LOS, only to be denied boarding in Nairobi on the 2nd leg of same ticket. pic.twitter.com/tco8K4wL7d
