Monday, November 2, 2026 - Police officers from Starehe Sub-County have arrested five suspects accused of taking advantage of an ODM political rally at Jacaranda Grounds to rob unsuspecting members of the public.

The suspects were arrested following a swift operation by police officers at the venue.

A quick search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of eight mobile phones suspected to have been stolen from people attending the rally.

The five suspects were placed in police custody pending arraignment in court, while the recovered mobile phones were secured as exhibits.

The National Police Service has warned criminal gangs against using political rallies as an opportunity to target, harass or steal from members of the public.

Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order during public gatherings and ensuring the safety of those attending political events.
