2026 - Long-serving COTU Secretary-General, Francis Atwoli, is known
for his lavish lifestyle and has never shied away from showcasing the finer
things in life.
The outspoken trade unionist has caught the attention of
netizens after sharing a photo of himself enjoying a cup of coffee in first-class
aboard a flight while travelling back to Kenya from Europe.
While the luxurious setting was impressive on its own,
eagle-eyed social media users quickly zoomed in on Atwoli’s wrist, where he
appeared to be wearing a Richard Mille RM 11 Flyback Chronograph, one of the
world's most exclusive luxury timepieces.
Depending on the model and specifications, the watch is
estimated to be worth between Ksh20 million and Ksh60 million, placing it
firmly in the category of ultra-luxury accessories.
The photo sparked a flurry of reactions online, with many
marveling at the watch's eye-watering price tag, while others joked that the
timepiece alone could purchase several cars or houses in some parts of the
country.
Atwoli, who has built a reputation for his larger-than-life personality, once again found himself at the centre of social media conversation, with his expensive taste becoming a talking point among Kenyans.
