Friday, May 8, 2026 - Fresh details have emerged about King’ei, the notorious robbery suspect who was accidentally shot dead by one of his accomplices during a botched carjacking incident along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi Highway.

According to reports, King’ei and his gang had staged an attack targeting a driver who was transporting a newly-imported Subaru vehicle from the port city of Mombasa.

The gang reportedly attempted to hijack the vehicle before the operation went terribly wrong.

During the dramatic robbery attempt, one of the robbers fired a shot intended for the driver.

However, the bullet missed the target and instead struck King’ei, killing him on the spot as his accomplices fled the scene.

As investigations continue, new information emerging indicates that King’ei came from a background associated with crime.

Reports claim that his father was also an infamous highway robber who operated along the same Mombasa-Nairobi Highway years ago.

Sources further allege that some of King’ei’s accomplices, who are still on the run, have previously been linked to several violent robberies and have reportedly been arrested multiple times in the past.

Police are currently pursuing the fleeing suspects as investigations into the failed carjacking incident continue.
