MOSIRIA warns LADIES against risky pursuit of “soft life” after tragic death of Murang’a University student, CONNIE GITHINJI, in Kileleshwa Airbnb

Wednesday, April 29, 2026 - Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has sounded a stern warning to young women that the pursuit of the so‑called “soft life” could come at a devastating cost.

Speaking on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, Mosiria urged young women to reflect on the choices they make today, stressing that chasing easy money and luxury without effort often leads to hidden risks.

“The so‑called ‘soft life’ and easy money you have not worked for can be very dangerous and may cost you your peace, dignity and even your future,” he said.

He explained that many young women are being lured by wealthy men who use gifts and promises of comfort to mask their true intentions.

“Do not be quick to run after wealthy men who promise you heaven on earth, especially when their intentions are not genuine,” Mosiria advised.

He highlighted cases where young women were placed in danger after trusting the wrong people, including incidents where victims were lured into unsafe environments such as Airbnbs with false promises of money or a better life.

He noted that some of these encounters have ended fatally like the recent tragic death of Murang’a University student, Consollata “Connie” Githinji.

The 22‑year‑old, who was known for living a soft life despite coming from a humble background, is believed to have been murdered at a Kileleshwa Airbnb after meeting a man later identified as a criminal.

Mosiria also pointed to the pressure created by social media, saying curated posts often push young people to live beyond their means.

He urged women to value dignity over shortcuts, reminding them that luxury without effort frequently hides serious consequences.
