Wednesday, April 15, 2026 - A mortuary attendant at Ishiara Level 4 Hospital in Mbeere North has raised concerns over the poor state of the facility, exposing challenging working conditions that are affecting service delivery.
In photos shared online, the attendant is seen improvising
by hanging a bucket of water on the wall to wash and embalm bodies, sparking
concern among social media users.
The photos also show the condition of water being used
within the facility, further raising questions about hygiene standards and
infrastructure at the hospital.
Locals held demonstrations on Tuesday to protest the
deplorable state of the hospital, which turned chaotic and led to the deaths of
two people following a violent confrontation with police.
