Tuesday, April 21, 2026 - Senator Allan Chesang has opened up on his close relationship with President William Ruto, describing him as a father figure in his life.
In a recent interview, Chesang revealed that the Head of
State not only guides him in political matters but also offers personal advice.
“President Ruto is like a father I never had. He advises
me on marriage and political issues,” he said.
The remarks have reignited memories of Chesang’s glamorous
wedding to Chanelle Kittony on November 1st, 2025, where President
Ruto was the chief guest.
The ceremony, attended by family and dignitaries, saw the President
deliver heartfelt words that painted Chesang as his “political son.”
The President admitted that it was his first time meeting
Chanelle but hinted that he had helped reconcile the couple during a rough
patch.
"I
want to encourage other young people. Allan here is my political son. He is
among the many young people I mentor, and I talk to them.”
“I
asked him very difficult questions, and he told me it went like this, and I
told him to plan himself. Thank you for bringing Chanelle to us.”
He emphasized that mentoring young leaders like Chesang was
part of his broader vision, encouraging other youth to embrace responsibility
in both family and politics.
"I
want to encourage all young people that it is good to get married. It's good to
find a family. Many people run away from responsibility, and they want to
pretend that it is fashion, but it is not. Many young men do not want
responsibility.”
“They
want to enjoy stuff, but they don't want responsibility that is
incorrect," he shared.
