2026 - Residents of Karatina had reportedly turned a bush in the area into
a makeshift lodging site before it was cleared by local authorities.
According to reports, some residents resorted to using the
“green lodging” due to the high cost of accommodation, with some lodgings said
to charge up to Ksh 300.
Items recovered from the scene indicated that various
activities had been taking place at the site.
