Former Machakos First Lady LILIAN NG’ANG’A reveals why she named her son with rapper, JULIANI, ‘UTHERI’

Friday, April 17, 2026 - Former Machakos County First Lady and rapper, Juliani’s wife, Lilian Ng’ang’a, has opened up about the inspiration behind her son’s name, Utheri.

In Kikuyu, Utheri means “light,” a choice she says reflects hope, brightness and a sense of new beginnings.

Sharing the update on Instagram, Lilian sparked a conversation about how parents choose names for their children.

“My boy’s name is Utheri. It means ‘light’ in Kikuyu 😊 Did you take months to decide which name to settle for or maybe you already knew?” she wrote.

Her post followed another candid reflection a day earlier, where she suggested that 25 years could be a reasonable age to consider parenthood.

Linking the idea to brain development, she explained that by around 25, most people are more emotionally stable and capable of making grounded life decisions.

“Since our prefrontal cortex matures around age 25, I’d say that from now on, we are capable of making better decisions… but things don’t always go to plan,” she noted, inviting her followers to share whether their first pregnancies were planned or surprises.

Lilian herself embraced motherhood later in life, welcoming her son at 37 with rapper Juliani.
