Monday, March 09, 2026 - The Kenyan diaspora community is mourning after the heartbreaking confirmation that 31‑year‑old Edna Mmbali Ombakho, who had been reported missing in Wraysbury, United Kingdom, has been found dead.

Edna, an MSc student at York St John University in London, disappeared on February 1st, 2026, sparking weeks of worry, police appeals and desperate prayers from family, friends and Kenyans abroad.

On Sunday afternoon, March 8th, authorities confirmed to The Kenyan Diaspora Media that Edna’s body had been discovered in a river, bringing a devastating end to the search.

The news struck especially hard within the River of Christian Fellowship community, who had planned a virtual prayer meeting for her safe return.

The gathering instead turned into a solemn moment of remembrance, comfort and heartfelt tributes honouring Edna’s life.

Many continue to send messages of love and strength to her father, Dr. George Ombakho, and the entire Ombakho family back in Kitale Kenya as they navigate this painful loss.

May her soul rest in peace.
