Wednesday, March 18, 2026 - Tiaty Member of Parliament, William Kamket, is mourning the tragic loss of his 13‑year‑old son, Bill Ballot Kassait Jnr.
The tragedy was confirmed on Wednesday, March 18th,
by President William Ruto, who extended his condolences to Kamket and his
family.
In his message, the Head of State described the loss as
deeply painful, noting that the young boy had a bright future ahead.
“It is deeply painful to lose a young life filled with
promise and potential. We stand with you and support you during this difficult
time. Rest in Peace, Bill,” Ruto stated.
Bill is the son of Kamket and Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait.
While many Kenyans online expressed sympathy and offered
prayers to the grieving family, the news also triggered mixed reactions on
social media, with a section of netizens reviving an old video of Kamket
threatening to mobilise Pokot youths to confront Gen Z protesters during last
year’s anti‑finance bill demonstrations.
He mocked claims that Governor Sakaja had hired goons to
disrupt the protests, insisting that Pokot youths were “more lethal” than the
alleged hired groups.
