Monday, March 23, 2026 - A woman caused a scene in Nairobi’s Central Business District after she was conned by a rogue trolley operator who disappeared with her luggage worth about Ksh 10,000.
According to reports, the man approached her and offered to
help ferry her goods for a small fee.
Trusting him, she followed behind as he pushed the trolley
through the busy CBD streets.
However, due to the heavy crowd and fast-moving traffic of
people, she struggled to keep up with him.
Taking advantage of the congestion, the trolley operator
vanished into the crowd, leaving the woman stranded and confused.
Moments later, she was seen breaking down in tears, wailing
that the luggage was not even hers and pleading for help as onlookers gathered
at the scene.
The incident has sparked concern over rising cases of petty
theft targeting unsuspecting pedestrians in Nairobi’s busy streets.
