2026 - Gospel singer and 2027 presidential hopeful, Reuben Kigame, has
stirred debate after issuing clear instructions to be followed when he dies.
In a statement released on February 24th, 2026,
Kigame emphasized that he values support while alive rather than grand gestures
after death.
He urged Kenyans to rethink their cultural priorities,
noting that many ignore people’s work during their lifetime only to spend
lavishly on funerals.
Kigame insisted that those who fail to support his music
career or presidential bid today should not waste time paying glowing tributes
later.
Kigame called on Kenyans to fund his music by paying
royalties and to support his political aspirations if they truly believe in his
values.
“If you cannot fund my music career by paying my royalties or
support me as a Presidential aspirant promoting Utu, Haki na Maadili today,
don’t waste time telling crowds at my funeral how these were great ideas and do
not buy me an expensive casket or clothes to honour a dead body,” he declared.
