Thursday, January 15, 2026 - Controversial Kenyan pastor, Victor Kanyari, has once again stirred conversation after candidly revisiting his infamous “310 mbegu” sermons.
In a recent podcast interview, Kanyari admitted that for
over four years, he raked in more than Ksh 1 million daily by asking
congregants to send him just KSh 310 for prayers - an amount he cheekily
equated to the price of a cup of tea.
Kanyari revealed that cumulatively, he pocketed over Ksh 1.4
billion before his scheme was dramatically exposed by investigative journalist,
Mohammed Ali, through the Jicho Pevu documentary.
The exposé revealed how Kanyari coached followers to give fake
testimonies, including rehearsed claims of miraculous healings,
in order to convince others of his spiritual powers.
The revelations sparked national outrage, branding him one
of Kenya’s most controversial televangelists.
Despite the scandal, Kanyari has remained defiant,
continuing to run his Salvation Healing Ministry church and maintaining a loyal
following.
