Eleven members of notorious ‘Mbogi Yaadu’ gang arrested in Kiminini - Lethal weapons recovered from them (PHOTO)



Monday, January 12, 2026 - Law enforcement officers in Kiminini Sub-County have apprehended eleven individuals linked to the notorious criminal gang, Mbogi Yaadu, following a series of raids aimed at restoring peace to the area.

For months, the gang had terrorized residents of Birunda, Kiungani, and neighbouring communities, carrying out robberies and violent acts that left locals living in fear.

During the operation, officers recovered a cache of weapons, including bows, arrows, machetes, and knives, believed to have been used by the gang to intimidate and attack residents.

The arrested suspects are currently in custody and undergoing processing, with arraignment scheduled at Kitale Law Courts.

Authorities say the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to restore safety and security across Kiminini Sub-County.
