2026 - Controversial singer and businesswoman, Akothee, has come out to
address viral photos circulating online that have linked her to a supposed
romantic affair with an elderly white man.
In a
fiery statement shared on her social media pages, Akothee blasted critics,
accusing them of ignorance, hypocrisy and what she termed as “selective
amnesia.”
“Mkiniona
na mzungu mnatetemeka. These are golfers, please. Not couples,” she wrote,
dismissing claims that the photos showed anything romantic.
She
urged Kenyans to stop breaking people’s homes with reckless comments.
Akothee
further condemned what she described as a culture of online mudslinging,
stating that many social media users have perfected the art of smearing others
without facts.
“Most
of you are very uncivilised. You have a degree in smearing people with mud,”
she said.
The
outspoken entertainer issued a stern warning to bloggers and social media
users, cautioning that anyone found sharing the photos with misleading or
defamatory captions willface legal action.
“If I find this photo on your wall with useless captions, I will take action against you. 2026 we are sanitising these streets,” she declared.
