Wednesday, December 10, 25 - Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Chairperson, Dr. Bishop David Oginde, has revealed a recent encounter with a National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officer who allegedly attempted to solicit a bribe.
Speaking on Tuesday, December 9th, Oginde said he
was processing an online vehicle ownership transfer when a colleague contacted
an NTSA officer for assistance.
The officer reportedly demanded Ksh 10, 000
to facilitate the process.
“Two weeks ago, I was processing an online vehicle ownership
transfer.”
“When a colleague called an NTSA officer for assistance, he asked
for a bribe of Ksh10,000.”
“We refused, and the process was rejected. I was tempted to ask
him, ‘Do you know who you’re speaking to?’” Oginde recalled.
