Thursday, October 30, 2025 - Drama unfolded along a busy city road after angry members of the public turned against a rogue traffic police officer who was reportedly harassing a matatu driver and demanding a bribe.
According to eyewitnesses, the officer forcefully boarded
the public service vehicle and began intimidating the driver, accusing him of
flouting traffic rules.
However, things quickly took a different turn when
passengers and onlookers noticed his intentions.
In the video, the furious crowd can be heard shouting at the
officer, demanding that he alights from the vehicle immediately.
The visibly shaken cop tried to defend himself, but the
crowd’s anger only intensified as chaos erupted.
The officer eventually backed down and left the scene as the
public jeered and recorded the confrontation.
Incidents of traffic police officers harassing motorists and
demanding bribes are all too common in Kenya, but for this particular officer,
it turned out to be a bad day at the office.
