Mystery surrounds disappearance of 17-Year-old Huruma teen kidnapped in March - Family still await answers as kidnappers demand ransom using different numbers (PHOTOs)

Thursday, September 11, 2025 - The family of Reagan Njoroge, a 17-year-old boy from Huruma, Nairobi, is still in anguish nearly six months after his mysterious disappearance.

Reagan went missing on March 17th, 2025, after leaving home to deliver a gas cylinder to a customer’s residence, a task assigned to him through his uncle’s workplace.

He never returned.

Two days later, the distraught family began receiving chilling text messages from anonymous numbers demanding Ksh 200,000 for Reagan’s release.

The family immediately reported the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Pangani Police Station and provided evidence of the threatening messages.

Since then, the nightmare has only worsened.

More than seven different numbers have contacted the family, issuing repeated threats to kill Reagan if the ransom was not paid.

Despite this, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains at a standstill.

The family says they have been left in the dark, with no closure or communication from authorities about Reagan’s whereabouts or the alleged kidnappers.

Reagan’s disappearance has sparked concerns about the rising cases of kidnappings in Nairobi and the apparent gaps in follow-up investigations.

His family continues to appeal for justice, hoping that the truth about what happened to their son will one day come to light.
