Monday, September 15, 2025 - Politics in Kakamega has taken a dramatic turn after Deputy Governor Ayub Savula launched a scathing attack against former Governor and current Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, accusing him of wrecking Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda’s marriage.

Speaking at a public function, Savula did not mince his words as he took a direct aim at Oparanya, alleging that the CS has been entangled in a secret relationship with Muhanda, leading to the collapse of her family.

The outspoken DG stunned the crowd when he went further, ridiculing the situation with a crude remark:

“Ata ukilala na yeye haezi zaa,” Savula roared.

According to insiders, the alleged affair between Oparanya and Muhanda began shortly after his Cabinet appointment.

Muhanda is said to have walked out of her matrimonial home and moved into a lavish Nairobi apartment reportedly rented for her by Oparanya, who is no stranger to controversy over his relationships.
