Thursday, September 11, 2025 - Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has advised Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, to consider aligning with President William Ruto if he hopes to secure the Presidency in 2032.
In a statement shared on social media on Wednesday,
September 10th, Ngunyi made three bold predictions about Kalonzo’s
political options.
“Big bro Kalonzo: I am a mercenary for public good.”
“Three predictions: One, you will not be the opposition
candidate.”
“Two, if you are, you will lose.”
“Three, your best bet is joining Ruto. Prediction: If you
do, you will be President in 2032,” Ngunyi wrote.
Despite the suggestion, Kalonzo has repeatedly rejected any possibility of working with Ruto’s administration.
Speaking in Kitui on July 18th, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi expressed optimism that Kalonzo will eventually align with Ruto and Raila Odinga ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wandayi urged Kalonzo to embrace dialogue and contribute to
national solutions.
However, Kalonzo dismissed the overtures, labeling the
current regime as oppressive.
“I will never join this rogue and criminal regime, and I
refuse to participate in any type of dialogue with a regime that has our
children's blood on its hands,” he declared.
Kalonzo Musyoka is among a coalition of prominent opposition
leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Martha Karua, Fred
Matiang’i and Eugene Wamalwa, who are
forging a formidable alliance aimed at challenging President William Ruto in
the 2027 general elections.
The group is positioning itself as a united front to counter
the Kenya Kwanza administration and offer an alternative leadership vision for
the country.
