Wednesday, September 10, 2025 - A family in Kisii is grappling with shock after a domestic dispute spiraled into a fatal gas explosion that claimed the life of a woman and left her husband fighting for his life.
According to sources, the couple had been experiencing long-standing marital problems.
On Sunday, the husband allegedly brought home petrol,
telling his wife it was meant to kill bedbugs.
On Monday morning, he reportedly sent their house help to a
nearby shop.
Moments later, their home was engulfed in flames after the
petrol ignited, triggering a powerful gas
cylinder explosion.
The woman, who was trapped inside her bedroom, reportedly
locked from the outside, was unable to escape and died at the scene.
The husband sustained severe
burns and is currently admitted to the ICU under tight medical
supervision.
Police have launched investigations to determine whether the incident was an accident or a calculated act tied to the couple’s domestic woes.
