Tuesday, September 16, 2025 - Shock has gripped
tenants of Tsavo Apartments in Fedha Estate after CCTV cameras captured the
tragic moment a young man slipped and fell to his death while sliding on a
staircase rail.
The victim, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, reportedly
fell from the 11th floor, dying instantly.
In the footage, the deceased is seen walking down the stairs
with a lady while holding a can of beer.
Moments later, he attempts to slide on the staircase rail
but loses balance, plunging to his death as his companion watches in horror.
Residents now blame the building’s management for
negligence, saying the tragedy could have been avoided had proper safety
measures been put in place.
For years, tenants have called for the installation of
protective barriers on every floor, but their pleas have allegedly been
ignored.
Tsavo Apartments is owned by venture capitalists who have
heavily invested in Nairobi’s booming student housing sector.
However, critics accuse them of prioritizing profits over
tenants’ safety.
