Wednesday, September 10, 2025 - Authorities have arrested three suspects in Kerugoya town, Kirinyaga County, after they were found in possession of elephant tusks during a multi-agency operation.
The operation, which involved officers from the National Police Service (NPS)
and the Kenya Wildlife
Service (KWS), led to the suspects being taken into custody.
They are expected to be arraigned in court.
In a statement, the National Police Service reiterated that wildlife crimes are serious offences that threaten the survival of
endangered species and undermine Kenya’s conservation legacy.
The Service commended the collaboration between law enforcement agencies and assured the public of continued vigilance in dismantling criminal networks engaged in trophy trafficking.
