Wednesday, August 13, 2025 - Police officers on patrol along the Kakamega-Mumias Road have recovered an abandoned black Toyota Fielder loaded with narcotics.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the officers
stumbled upon the vehicle and, upon searching it, found seven bags of bhang weighing 159.15 kilograms.
The drugs have an estimated street value of Ksh 4,774,500.
The motor vehicle was immediately towed to Kakamega Police Station, where it is
being detained as investigations continue to identify its owner and determine
the source and intended destination of the consignment.
Police have
urged members of the public to provide any information that may assist in
tracing the suspects behind the trafficking.
The seizure is part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs in the region, with authorities warning that traffickers will face the full force of the law.
