Police officers intercept a lorry transporting vandalized railway materials through an intelligence-led operation (PHOTOs)



Thursday, July 17, 2025 - Officers from the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU), in coordination with their counterparts at Sultan Hamud Police Post, have successfully intercepted a lorry transporting suspected vandalised railway materials in the Kibini area.

Acting on credible intelligence, the officers stopped the vehicle for inspection and subsequently escorted it to the Sultan Hamud Police Post.

Upon thorough examination, the lorry was found to be carrying 61 railway sleepers and 60 rail bars, believed to have been unlawfully removed from the railway line.

One suspect has been arrested, and the lorry impounded as investigations continue.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned in court once preliminary inquiries are complete.
